Busting Weather Myths!
Have you heard some wild ideas about the weather? Here at Miss G's Classroom, we love to get to the bottom of things!
Myth 1:
Rain comes from holes in clouds
FACT:
As we discovered from our experiment, rain comes from clouds and when rain gets too heavy for the cloud to float in the air, rain falls!
Myth 2:
Thunder is furniture being moved up in the sky
FACT:
Thunder is the sound made by lightning. Light travels much faster than sound, so we see the lightning before we hear the thunder.
Myth 3:
Rainbows are things you can touch.
FACT:
A rainbow is made when sunlight shines through raindrops.
